Joel Haspel - Director / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joel has over 20 years information technology and management consulting experience. He spent 10 years with Deloitte Consulting delivering technology enabled business solutions in the United States, Australia and Asia. Joel was also instrumental in the development of Deloitte Consulting methodologies and international expansion. From April 1997 through January 2000, Joel, as part of a 4 person executive team, built a large technology practice in East Asia. This growth was achieved through acquisitions and direct sales. During this period Joel developed direct relationships with clients including TSMC in Taiwan, Asian Development Bank in Manila , CRC Ahold in Thailand and IBM in China and Singapore. While working at Deloitte, many of his clients were focused on supply chain improvements. Armed with insight from other industries, he applied these concepts to the healthcare industry to create Sentient Health in 1999. Back to Top
Hidetoshi Takinaka - Director Hidetoshi has played a lead role in the creation of new healthcare related ventures within ASO Corporation during his 20 year tenure. His track record includes participation in the ASO Medical Welfare Division, ASO Medical Research Group and presidency of ASO Medical. In his current role as head of the Hospital Consulting Group, Hidetoshi leads the effort to improve the management of public and private medical facilities. He has given lectures about the reformation of public and private hospitals at numerous nationwide Medical Seminars sponsored by companies such as NEC and Toshiba. Back to Top
Jim Kelly - Director / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jim Kelly is the founder and has been the president of K2 Services Corporation, an early stage venture investment and consulting company, since its inception in 1999. From 1994 through 1998, he was the Chief Representative of Robertson Stephens & Company's Tokyo Representative Office. He opened the Tokyo office of CJ Lawrence Morgan Grenfell in 1988 and ran the US equity division after its acquisition by Deutschebank. Jim has worked and lived in Japan since 1988 and has a B.A. from Colgate University. Back to Top
James Barwick - Director / Chief Technology Officer (CTO) A graduate with Honors of The Georgia Institute of Technology with a discipline in Computer Engineering, James was able to develop his technical and business skills during an 8 year tenure with Deloitte Consulting between 1991 and 1999 during which time he was a project team manager assisting in the implementation of Oracle Financials and a developer of technical interface architectures between Legacy system and Oracle. Bringing his experience of technical system architecture and design to Concur Technologies, James developed a career as a Technical Project Manager responsible for all technical issues during the implementation of Concur's software. Scott Barger - Director / Sales & Marketing Scott became involved with Sentient while a senior associate at K2 Services Corporation and worked extensively in developing Sentient Health Japan's (SHJ) marketing and sales strategy. He joined SHJ when it was established in February 2002 and has played a leading role in executing the sales strategy as well as technology development. Scott is fluent in Japanese and has lived and worked in Japan for over 13 years. He provides both marketing know-how as well as in depth knowledge of Japanese logistics.
